Brian Durning
Official Reportapalooza Winner
If you wrote a song about SAP Crystal solutions, what would it be called?
"Partial Requirements" because I don’t know of one developer that has ever received fully defined report requirements.
Brian Durning broke into the scene back in the 90s with Crystal Reports 6.5 back when the software was owned by Seagate.
His current gig is with PepsiCo. He’s a senior business analyst in PepsiCo’s Business Intelligence Group in Plano, Texas. He uses virtually every SAP product there is at PepsiCo, but SAP Crystal Reports remains his instrument of choice because of the amount of control it gives him when developing reports that satisfies user requirements. While his all-time favorite band, Abba, may be an acquired taste, it took him no time at all to become a fan of the latest iteration of Xcelsius software. Brian finds it gives him the ability to produce executive-level dashboards in hours, not days.
Brian’s musical interests include playing bass on Rock Band and dreaming of being Bon Jovi. Of course, if Bon Jovi knew anything about dashboards and reporting, he would dream of being Brian Durning.
